Motorcycle Precautions

If possible, avoid going to a car wash shop or relying on others to wash your car. Although car wash shops may have all the necessary tools and procedures, they often prioritize efficiency over quality, leading to potential issues and flaws in the cleaning process.

Make sure to allow the hot car to cool down before giving it a wash. It's common knowledge that introducing cold water suddenly to the engine, exhaust pipe, and other components can cause thermal expansion and cold contraction, leading to damage in various parts such as oil seals and promoting oil leakage. Moreover, this abrupt temperature change can result in the deterioration of the chrome layer at the junction between the exhaust pipe and the engine, leading to oxidation and rust formation. Therefore, it is essential to let the car cool down properly before initiating the cleaning process to avoid these issues.

To avoid any damages or malfunction, it is highly recommended not to directly wash certain parts of your vehicle such as the headlights, left and right handrails, switches, exhaust pipe exhaust ports, horns, cremation plugs, air filters, batteries, and other parts with water. These components are equipped with circuits that could get short-circuited or leaked if they come in contact with water, leading to the lights not turning on, the horn not sounding, fire issues, and weak driving performance. Instead, it's better to wipe them using a dry cloth to ensure their proper functioning and longevity.

When washing your car, it is essential to clean both the lower part of the engine and the radiator. This not only improves the overall appearance but also enables easy identification of issues such as engine oil leakage. A useful technique for cleaning these areas involves using a toothbrush soaked in detergent. By diligently scrubbing these parts, you can effectively remove dirt and grime, ensuring a thorough cleaning process. Additionally, this method allows for close inspection, enabling you to promptly detect any potential problems that may require attention. So, don't overlook the importance of cleaning the lower part of the engine and the radiator, as it not only contributes to a visually appealing car but also aids in identifying and addressing engine issues.

When you finish washing your car, make sure to thoroughly dry it with a dry rag. Pay close attention to specific areas such as switches, instruments, left and right armrests, cremation plugs, and fuel tank caps. It's essential to remove the cremation plug cap and give it a few shakes to get rid of any water trapped inside. Failure to do so might interfere with the car's ignition.

After completing the drying process, it is important to follow a few steps before hitting the road again. To start, make sure to turn on the vehicle and let it run for about 5 to 10 minutes. During this time, keep the side stand engaged and set the engine to idle speed. This will help in ensuring that any remaining moisture or water in the exhaust pipe is drained out.

Once the idle time is up, it's time to drive the vehicle. However, it is recommended to start with a medium speed and continue for a few minutes. This allows for any residual moisture to evaporate and ensures a smoother ride. It is worth noting that during this process, it is advisable to choose shaded areas for drying and avoid direct exposure to the sun.

By following these guidelines, you can ensure that your vehicle is thoroughly dried and ready to hit the road again. Remember, taking proper care after water exposure is crucial for maintaining the performance and longevity of your vehicle.

It's crucial to take care of your car, especially during the rainy season. Acidic rainwater is a major cause of exhaust pipe corrosion. So, every time you park your car in the garage, make sure to dry it properly and pay extra attention to the exhaust pipe. Although it may seem like a hassle, taking the time to take care of your car is an investment in its longevity. Don't forget to show your car some love!

Once you finish cleaning the car, it's important to spray the shell with wax and give it a good wipe down with a fine emery cloth. Additionally, make sure to lubricate the chain again to keep the car running smoothly. Don't forget these important steps in your car maintenance routine!
